the fake boys started in 2007 to keep certain members from wanting to kill themselves. after years of playing and releasing records in hardcore, i felt a need to return to making the music i grew up with. hardcore is and always will be a close friend but i missed crafting melody and exploring the song writing experience that came with the music i settled down with at the end of the day. blending the maturity of 90's pop punk a la jawbreaker with the mind, body, and soul of 80's indie acts like husker du and dinosur jr... the fake boys set out to just write good songs. in the end it seems to come together in a loud, warm, 60's sort of way... very beatles with a splash of byrds i like to think, with melodies that float above a layer fuzz and love.
